Microsoft operates an Insider program for a lot of its software products such as Windows and it has now decided to do the same for one of its most popular titles, Halo. Players who are interested in testing Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC will now be able to sign up for the Halo Insider Program to test all of the games across PC and console.
If you’re a fan of the Halo franchise, then you’ll be pleased to learn that at E3 2019, the next installment in the Halo franchise will be making its grand entrance. This will come in the form of Halo Infinite which will essentially be the successor to Halo 5: Guardians that was originally launched back in 2015.
Titanfall 2 players will be familiar with “Mixtape matchmaking.” It’s basically a type of playlist preferencing which will now be seen in another beloved title, Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The game’s community manager has confirmed that this feature is being added as it has been frequently requested by the community.
The other day thanks to new box art spotted on Amazon, it was speculated that Halo 5 could finally be coming to the PC. Unfortunately for gamers who were excited by that possibility, it seems that Microsoft has since come forward and denied it by telling CNET, “As we’ve shared previously, we do not have plans to launch Halo 5: Guardians on Windows 10 PC.”
The last time we saw a Halo game from the main series launched on the PC was Halo 2. There has been many wondering if Microsoft would ever bring the main series back onto the PC again, and back in 2016 it didn’t seem like the case. However that could change in the near future, thanks to new box art for Halo 5.
A massive new update has been launched for Halo: The Master Chief Collection ahead of the title’s launch on Xbox Game Pass. It was confirmed recently that this title would be released on Microsoft’s subscription-based game service for Xbox owners. This latest update for the game weighs in at 73GB.
Showtime has been working on a Halo series and a new interview has finally revealed some more details about the project. Microsoft announced back in 2013 that it was working on a Halo TV series. We’ve not heard much about the Halo TV series since then. The thing about video game remasters is that sometimes it’s a good idea and sometimes it’s a bad one. For example bringing back a classic like Final Fantasy VII is a good idea, but remastering a game for the sake of it or when you’re trying to milk the franchise is typically not such a great idea.
