At E3 2017 last month, Nintendo finally gave gamers what many have been asking for, which is a Pokemon RPG that won’t be exclusive to the company’s handheld consoles. In case you missed the news, Nintendo pretty much announced that a Pokemon RPG would be making its way onto the Nintendo Switch.

Details of the game was scarce and it seems that it could be that way for a while, and for those wondering when the game will be released, you’re probably in for a wait. According to Nintendo’s latest financials (via Nintendo Life), the company has listed Pokemon for the Nintendo Switch as arriving in 2018 or later.

This shouldn’t be surprising as Nintendo did not provide at date when the game was announced, which means that a 2017 release was pretty much ruled out. In fact The Pokémon Company’s Tsunekazu Ishihara was even quoted as saying that “it may not release for more than a year”.

This means that at the very earliest, it could arrive in 2018, if not 2019 or even later. However we guess gamers can take comfort in knowing that at least a Pokemon game for the Switch is in development, so until then you guys will just have to remain patient about it.
