YouTube’s app has undergone various changes over the years since it was released, and is usually updated to reflect new features of the main YouTube website. Now it looks like the app could be undergoing some kind of slight redesign as discovered by Manish Yadav who shared a screenshot of the YouTube Android app (via Android Police).

As you can see in the screenshot, the main change to the app is at the bottom row of tabs. The current YouTube app that most Android users will most likely see will contain the Home tab, the Trending Tab, Subscriptions Tab, Shared Tab, and the Library Tab. However in the screenshot shared by Yadav, it seems that YouTube has changed the Shared Tab into an Activity Tab.

Clicking that tab will take users to a section which is split between Shared and Notifications. Prior to this, users would have to go to the Library tab to view their notifications, but this change suggests that YouTube is bringing notifications more to the front. Note that this particular interface has already been implemented for iOS users, so it looks like YouTube is bringing that particular design to Android users.

According to Android Police, they themselves don’t see the changes so it looks like it is most likely a server-side change, meaning that you might have to wait before you see those changes reflected in your Android YouTube app.
