These days it’s becoming more obvious that your regular TV stations and channels are no longer the only way to consume video content. We’ve got the likes of Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, and more in which one can stream video content. Even traditional channels like HBO have branched out to more digital offerings.

This is why it doesn’t come as a surprise to learn that according to a report from Deadline, YouTube has acquired the rights to Eminem-produced satirical hip-hop movie “Bodied”. The film is written and directed by Joseph Kahn, who has in the past directed some of Eminem’s music videos, and is produced by both Eminem, his manager Def Jam Records CEO Paul Rosenberg.

The film stars Calum Worthy, Jackie Long, Shoniqua Shondai, Walter Perez, and Rory Uphold and is about a grad student who decides to get into the rap battle scene, where his success does not sit well with those in the underground hip-hop world. The movie made its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival last year where it won the Grolsch People’s Choice Midnight Madness award.

With YouTube now holding the rights to the film, they are expected to show it at the Sundance Film Festival later this month, and will also be released in theaters later this year while also being accessible via YouTube Red. In the meantime you can check out the trailer for the movie above, but be warned, it does contain some NSFW language.
