The group chat feature in WhatsApp is a great way to bring friends, co-works, and relatives together. It can also be used to organize events, such as meetings, birthday parties, study groups, and so on. However all these groups can get confusing, especially if you’ve been using the app for a while.

The good news is that it looks like group chats will start to get more descriptive. In the latest beta for WhatsApp on Android, it looks like WhatsApp will be introducing a new “Group Description” feature. This is a rather straightforward feature as its name suggests, where users can add a short description to the group.

This means that instead of just creating a title, users can add more description to the group so that people have a better idea of what to expect. For example if you’re planning to host a birthday party, the description can also include the venue’s address, the time, the date, and so on.

As it stands the feature seems to be only available for the Android version of the app, but we expect that it should eventually find its way to the iOS version of WhatsApp in the future once the feature has been rolled out publicly.
