Instagram’s Stories feature is a popular one and one that the company has been building upon for a while now. In the latest update to the app, Instagram is introducing a way for users to share to Stories from any app, meaning that you won’t need to grab a screenshot and upload it to Stories by yourself.

The best part for those who are a bit more privacy-focused is that you won’t need to link your Instagram account to those other apps, which means that you can still keep them separate if you’d rather not have Instagram/Facebook know too much about you. The only caveat to this feature is that it will require other apps to enable it for it to work.

This means that if a developer choose not to include Instagram sharing, then we guess you’re out of luck. Right out the gate there will be two companies who are on board: GoPro and Spotify, where in the screenshot above you will be able to share the song you are listening to right now via Instagram’s Stories.

The song won’t actually play but it will let users know what you are playing and there will also be a button that lets your followers click to open it in the Spotify app, assuming that they have it installed. This new feature follows the announcement that Instagram will also be getting a video chat feature.
