Given that the Xbox One is by Microsoft, it’s not surprising that it supports the Cortana digital assistant. However it seems that Microsoft isn’t so closed off to the idea that the Xbox One could support more than one digital assistant. According to the folks at Windows Central, it seems that they have received a screenshot from a source that hints at the arrival of other digital assistants.

As you can see in the screenshot above, it looks like both Alexa and Google Assistant could soon arrive onto the Xbox One. As it stands neither are available on the console, but the wording seems to suggest that both will be arriving at a later date. No word on when that will be or if the launch will be simultaneous, or if one will come after the other.

That being said, it’s not too surprising that Microsoft is bringing other digital assistants onto the Xbox One. While Cortana has been around longer than Alexa, it has never really had the same impact. If this screenshot is accurate, then it’s good to see that Microsoft isn’t closing themselves off to other digital assistants and are thinking about their users who might be using other platforms.

The full extent of Alexa and Google Assistant’s integration is still unclear at this point in time, but we should find out soon enough in future Xbox One software updates.
