Evergreen EG-HPM, MP3 Player with EL Display

Evergreen (Japan) has released new neckband headphone MP3 player, the EG-HPM, on September 22nd. The EG-HPM comes in two models, 256MB (12,800 Yen) and 512MB (14,800 Yen). It employs a 96 x 64 pixel three-color built-in EL display housed on the left earphone, which can display ID3 tags including song titles and bit rate information in Japanese and English.

The EG-HPM supports playback for MP3 and WMA formats. It also supports direct encoding of MP3 and WMA files by using its built-in stereo mini jack; as well as voice recording via its built-in mic. A FM tuner is also employed on the EG-HPM, allowing users to listen, as well as record FM radio program. With its USB 1.1 interface, users may also turn the EG-HPM into a USB storage device.

This unit is powered by built-in Li-Polymer battery which takes 2-3 hours to fully recharge and provides up to 15 hours of playback time. It measures 49 x 52 x 15 mm (outer dimensions) and weighs 36 g.
