Itronix GoBook XR-1

Itronix GoBook XR-1

The new GoBook XR-1 from Itronix is one tough nut. It might not survive under heavy duty bombardment, but dropping the XR-1 on the floor is a non-issue. The XR-1 is more than capable of meeting the everyday knocks, drops, and bumps as it meets the military standard 810F for drops, shock, vibration and IP54 (ingress protection). You get a trio of wireless systems built-in with the XR-1, including WWAM and GPS. Rest assured that such durability translates to only one thing – a heavyweight 6.8 pound notebook with an equally heavy price. The XR-1 is available from next month onwards with prices starting from $4,330 for a basic configuration. More specs after the jump. • Intel Core Duo – 1.83GHz, FSB 667Mhz, 2MB L2 Cache
