PicoBotz DIY robots

If you ever dreamt of building your own robots, the PicoBotz would do very nicely. Available in a kit from Edmund Scientific, assembling one requires some basic understanding of simple diagrams and works in three extremely basic modes. They are obstacle avoidance, sound control, and the ability to follow a line. If you’re more adventurous, you can always hook up the PicoBotz to a Windows-based PC via a serial cable, using the included software to come up with some customized programming modes of your own. The software provides up to 180 possible instructions to keep you occupied. The PicoBotz retail for $77 now (it’s on sale) and looks more likely to stimulate the brain of your kids compared to a couple of video game titles.
