VirtuaMouse One-Hand Released: OK, But What About Doing a Touch-UI That Works?

VirtuaMouse One-Hand Released, What About Doing a Touch-UI That Works?

Innovisoft has released VirtuaMouse One-Hand, a virtual “mouse” that helps Windows Mobile customers use the operating system in a familiar way.

Innovisoft takes a slightly different approach to the virtual mouse cursor than the Omnia,” said Michael Prendergast, Founder of Innovisoft Corporation. “On the Omnia and the Epix, you can’t switch between D-Pad mode and mouse cursor mode easily -– it’s either one or the other. But we recognize that both the D-Pad and the stylus are still important and are effective means of navigating a Pocket PC. To accommodate for this, VirtuaMouse One-Hand makes it easy to show and hide the cursor with the press of a (hardware) button.”

We praise Innovisoft for trying to tackle the “Windows Mobile problem”, but frankly, we don’t think that the future of Mobile Computing is making it look like a desktop PC that has twenty times more screen real-estate and radically different input methods. However, while we’re all waiting for Microsoft to come up with a better UI, VirtuaMouse might alleviate some of the pain.
