Acer Aspire One 521 undergoes HD video test

So the Acer Aspire One 521 has been released, but how does it fare? The folks over at Netbook Choice took it out for a spin, seeing whether the 1.2GHz single-core AMD V105 processor and ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics card with HDMI out has enough juice within to handle HD video, never mind the fact that the display itself comes with a mere 1,024 x 600 resolution. So far HD content playback seem to be reasonable, although when it came to YouTube HD, the frame rates weren’t impressive at all, with stutter being the mainstay. Of course, this could very well be due to the driver issue, but if you want smooth HD video playback, either get a real muscle notebook or one with an NVIDIA ION chipset.
