Phecda P7 Android tablet runs on Android 2.1

The Phecda P7 is another Android-powered tablet from China, where it will run on the Android 2.1 operating system with the added promise of an update to Android 2.2 FroYo when October rolls around. The P7 is no slouch when it comes to specifications, although we would have liked to see a faster processor instead of the 650MHz ARM11-based Telechips TCC8901 chip. Features include a multi-touch capable 7″ WVGA display, 256MB RAM, 4GB of internal memory, SD memory card support, a couple of USB ports, HDMI output and a 1300mAh battery that works great for a mere 4 hours. The HDMI output does indicate that the P7 can handle full HD 1080p video playback, although how smooth it will be is another question that begs an answer. Currently retailing for around $220 in China, it remains to be seen whether the P7 will arrive Stateside, but we will keep a keen eye out on FCC’s pages.
