Acer Aspire One AOD256 gets new media co-processor

The Acer Aspire One AOD256 is an improvement over the AOD255, where it will include a Quartics QV1271 media co-processor which will find its home in a mini-PCIe slot. What does the Quartics QV1271 offer? Well, it was specially designed to support 1080p HD video playback in addition to real-time conversion of 2D to 3D video. After all, Acer was spotted adding driver support for the Quartics media co-processor to a couple of its netbooks. Well, netbooks are getting more and more capable these days, blurring the lines between a notebook slowly but surely.
