Pentax Q officially announced, press release site is down

Leaked information about the Pentax Q was true to form, but too bad the leak came out just hours before the official announcement, which isn’t too enticing since there isn’t enough time between then and now to create enough buzz concerning Pentax’s latest shooter, the Pentax Q. As mentioned earlier, this is the self-proclaiming “world’s smallest and lightest interchangeable lens camera (ILC)”. The Q as it is simply known will deliver versatility and precision of an advanced DSLR without weighing a ton and requiring large hands to tote it around. To know more about the rest of its official specifications of this 12.4-megapixel shooter, head on after the jump.

Pentax has also announced the Pentax 01 Standard Prime kit lens and an optional optical viewfinder, shipping for around $800 this fall for the standard lens kit. If you want the optional shoe-mounted viewfinder, that can be yours for another $249.95.

Is anyone else out there having troubles with Pentax and its press release section? We’ve been trying to access it for the past couple of hours or so, but kept on getting the “We’re sorry, PentaxImaging.com is currently very busy and can’t respond to all requests. Please try again later. Thank you.” message. What about you? Good thing its press release on the Pentax Q can be obtained elsewhere. [Press Release]
