Wacom Cintiq 24HD Touch announced

Wacom Cintiq 24HD TouchIf you’re thinking of getting a new display for doing graphics-related work, Wacom has got a new option for you, in the form of the Cintiq 24HD Touch. While it isn’t any bigger than the previously released 24HD it does have some new features that can make your job better. First up is the inclusion of multitouch support – yes that’s right. Instead of only supporting input via its stylus, the display now lets you control what’s on the screen with your fingers. Users can tap on the screen or perform gestures for different functions.

The next major improvement is the improved display quality which is now capable of showing 1.07 billion colors – 97% of Adobe’s RGB gamut. This means that what you see on the screen will be even closer to a perfect representation of the actual image/video itself. Sounds like a pretty sweet update from the original Cintiq 24HD – however as you would have expected, the display isn’t going to come cheap. When it goes on sale this August, expect it to cost around $3699 – ouch.
