Neogeo X Gold primed for December release at $200 a pop

Back in the day where Nintendo and Sega were slugging it out for video game supremacy in the living room of millions of young children around the world, there were a few outsiders looking in, trying to make some headway for themselves as well – with the Jaguar and Neogeo consoles coming into mind. Well, fast forward a couple of decades, and here we are with a modern update to a blast from the past – the Neogeo X Gold which will feature a sticker price tag of $200 when it is made available to the masses later this December 6, 2012 by Tommo Inc.

One game for each year, I suppose. For $200, you will get the charging dock and joystick as seen, and when you compare it to today’s consoles, the Neogeo X Gold does not seem to offer much value for money, but there is no price tag on nostalgia, is there? At least it comes with an HDMI port that keeps up with the times…
