Acer Aspire V5 Series Notebooks with Windows 8 and Touch

Acer is coming to the Windows 8 launch with its Aspire V5 Series Notebooks that features 10-point multi-touch edge-to-edge displays on the Acer Aspire V5-471P (14-inch/4.63 pounds) and Acer Aspire V5-571P (15.6-inch / 5 pounds). The non-P models, Aspire V5-171, Aspire V5-471 and 11.6-inch Aspire V5-171 do not support touch. 14-inch and 15.6-inch Aspire V5 models get a built-in slim DVD drive, 500GB or 750GB hard drive and options for the3rd Generation Intel Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7.

According to the manufacturer, the V5 series models are 30% slimmer than the previous “value notebooks”. Other features include HD CineCrystal widescreen LED-backlit 16:9 aspect ratio displays, integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000, Dolby Advanced Audio v2, AcerCloud service, 1.3 megapixel HD webcam, one USB 3.0 port and HDMI out.

The V5 series will be available for sale on October 26 in the US with a start price of $749.99 for the Aspire V5-471P with touch support and $499.99 for the Aspire V5-571 without touch.

The V5 series will be available for sale on October 26 in Canada with a start price of $699.99 for the Aspire V5-571P with touch support and $449.99 for the Aspire V5-171 without touch.
