Meizu MX2 Is Now Official

It was slightly more than a week ago when we reported that we spotted the Meizu MX2 in the wild, and it did not take too long before this spanking new smartphone has become official. Yes sir, the Meizu MX2 has just been announced on an official basis, and underneath the hood, this bad boy packs in a quartet of 32nm Cortex-A9 CPU processors, accompanied by 2GB RAM, carry a 4.4″ display at WXGA resolution (which amounts to 1280 x 800 pixels) alongside a rather impressive 347 ppi pixel density. Shame that it does not fall under the phablet category to keep up with the times, but perhaps there is some good as well for it being a decent sized smartphone.

Apart from a speedier GPU, there is also Meizu’s version of Flyme 2.0 running on top of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Folks living in China will be able to get their hands on the Meizu MX2 when it hits retail shelves in that part of the world from the middle of December onward in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities, retailing for $400, $480 and $640, respectively – and these will no doubt be unlocked devices. There is no word on a global release of the Meizu MX2 just yet, so stay tuned.
