The device will feature a 6” e-ink display with a resolution of 1024×768. One of the perks of e-ink would be its readability, and with the Backcountry Tablet, its display will also come with a light so that it can be used at night as well. The tablet will also a battery which its creators, Earl, claim to be able to last up to 20 hours, and can be recharged in under 5 hours partly due to the fact that it comes with a built-in solar panel in the back.
Apart from that, the Backcountry Tablet will also be both water and dustproof, perfect for the adventurer, and will come with your typical connectivity options such as Bluetooth and WiFi, GPS, GLONASS radios and will even come with topographical maps which will be preloaded onto its included microSD card.
