ASUS MeMo Pad HD 7 Launched At Computex 2013

memo-pad-hd-7It looks like Computex 2013 seems to be quite tablet-focused as not only did Samsung take the wraps off their new Galaxy Tab 3 tablets, but ASUS has done so as well in announcing the MeMo Pad HD 7. Essentially this is a HD version of the ASUS MeMo Pad, with the main difference being that it will come with a 720p HD display instead. We’re sure you guys are confused as to why ASUS would do that, especially in a market where one could get better hardware. Well the good news for budget shoppers is that ASUS will be selling this tablet for an affordable price tag of $129 for the 8GB model, and $149 for the 16GB model which we guess isn’t too bad.

As far as the specs are concerned, the MeMo Pad 7 HD will sport a quad-core ARM 7 chipset with a 7” HD display with a resolution of 1280×800, a 5MP rear-facing camera and a 1.2MP front-facing camera, SonicMaster audio technology with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on board. As it stands the $129 model will be aimed at emerging markets, although the $149 model will be arriving to the US, although still no word on when.
