Google Android 4.4 KitKat Ad Jests At Apple’s Jony Ive

It was just yesterday that Google announced their future Android 4.4 version would be known as KitKat, and in a day and age where companies do not mind poking some fun at one another in their ads without being too straightforward, watch the YouTube video above and you would know that the ad parodies not only the look, but also the feel of Apple’s product design videos which feature Senior Vice President of design Jonathan Ive.

Not only that, KitKat’s “chief breaks officer” Chris Catlin, has gone out of the way to speak using a similar lilting English accent that Ive uses as he describes “confectionery perfectionery.” Catlin mentioned, “Every corner, every edge, every finger of every bar has been carefully considered and crafted to create a beautifully immersive and multisensory experience. And it really does taste as good as it looks.”

In the video, Catlin also went on to further describe the chocolate bar as featuring an “adjustable orientation,” and also global coverage so that users with devices running on Android 4.4 KitKat are able to take it literally anywhere. KitKat marks the first time that Google has gone ahead with a branded name for their mobile operating system, but will it be the last? Only time will tell.
