PS4’s PlayStation App Releasing For iOS, Android In November

The PlayStation 4 is set to be released on November 15 in North America, but Sony had promised the console would play nice with current mobile devices in addition to its PlayStation Vita. It looks like Sony is keeping true to their promise as the company announced at the Tokyo Game Show they would be launching a PlayStation application for both iOS and Android some time in November.

The PlayStation App will offer a number of different uses as iOS and Android owners can turn their device into a game controller using the application. The app can also act as a second screen for titles that support the feature as well as expand the action that’s going on in the actual game.

One of the last uses of the PlayStation App will, of course, bring the PlayStation Network to your mobile device as you’ll be able to keep tabs on what your friends are doing as well as their progress in a game in addition to checking on your own progress. Buying digital versions of games will also be made possible through the PlayStation App as well as the ability to chat with friends and Facebook and Twitter integration. Hopefully PlayStation 4 owners won’t have to wait too long for its dedicated application to be made available on iOS and Android.
