Killzone: Shadow Fall was a launch title for Sony’s popular gaming console, the PlayStation 4. An expansion back has now been announced for the title which will certainly breathe a new life into the game. PS4 Killzone: Shadow Fall Intercept expansion pack will add a brand new four-player online-op mode, letting gamers play with up to three of their friends on the elite VSA team called Intelligence Squad Alpha.

The team operates behind enemy lines and is on a mission to intercept and relay Helghast military transmissions back to VSA headquarters. In order to succeed in this mission players will have to keep Helghast interlopers at bay long enough to get a Hacking Uplink in place to transmit the data. Since members of the team will all be trained in unique combat roles, from assault and mid-to-long range to close-quarters, it may not be entirely impossible.

Teamplay is the key here. A Team Score will indicate how close the team is to establishing the Hacking Uplink. The score can be increased by defending the links from Helghast capture attempts. Each players can also increase it by “banking” his or her personal score that’s accumulated from ability uses, kills and recaptures. Bonuses like jetpacks and artillery strikes can also be earned.

The Killzone: Shadow Fall Intercept expansion pack will be available for Season Pass holders this June. A standalone version will be released later this year.
