AT&T today added a new low-end smartphone to its lineup. It formally announced that the HTC Desire 610 will be available on its network from July 25th. Interested customers can order the device online or pick one up in stores when the day comes for $199.99 off contract. Alternatively customers can also purchase it on the AT&T Next plan by committing to pay $8.34 per month for 18 months or $10 per month for 12 months.

Since its no powerhouse AT&T hasn’t wasted breath in talking about its specifications. The international version of the Desire 610 has a Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB RAM, 8GB of onboard storage and a 4.7-inch 960×540 display.

There’s a microSD card slot, a 2,040mAh battery and an 8 megapixel rear and a 1.3 megapixel front camera. Also onboard is Android 4.4 with Sense 6.0 UI.

One thing about the Desire 610 that’s likely to attract customers looking for a cheap smartphone off contract is the fact that its LTE compatible. This smartphone works on AT&T’s 4G LTE network making it a compelling choice at this price point.

The Desire 610’s design borrows cues from the current HTC One family which doesn’t make it look half bad. Its not really a powerful device but what can you expect at this price point. HTC Desire 610 will be available from AT&T online and in stores come July 25th.
