Manta 7x Smartphone Launched Without Physical Buttons

manta 7xPretty much all phones these days come with physical hardware buttons that allows the user to lock/unlock their device or to adjust its volume. However if you think that hardware buttons interferes with the phone’s design, you might be interested in a handset that goes by the name of the Manta 7x.

This is a smartphone that boasts no physical buttons. How does it work, you ask? Well it works thanks to sensors on its bezels that act as buttons, which is also thanks to a heavily customized version of Android 4.4 KitKat preinstalled on it. In terms of hardware, the Manta 7x will feature a 5.5-inch Full HD Sharp-made display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset.

There will be 2GB of RAM accompanying it, 32GB of onboard storage, and a pair of 13MP Sony IMX 214 sensors for the front and rear-facing camera – pretty impressive, huh? Both cameras will pack optical image stabilization and will have an f/2.0 aperture with the lens protected by a sapphire glass.

The handset is currently up for pre-order where it will be priced for around $650. Granted that is pretty steep considering that it doesn’t exactly pack the latest specs, but given its impressive camera setup and its design, we reckon it’s a pretty fair price they are asking for.
