ASUS ZenFone Zoom Released

YouTube Poster

Better late than never, or so the mantra goes. It was earlier in December that ASUS made good on their announcement of the ZenFone Zoom, a device which was announced one year back, where the ZenFone Zoom was touted to be the very first smartphone that boasts of a camera that has optical zoom (3X optical zoom if you would want to be precise). At time of publishing, the handset is available in Taiwan only, which so happens to be ASUS’ own backyard, hence it is safe to make the assumption that the ZenFone Zoom will be launched in other markets in due time. Otherwise, there would be little or no sense to release the global promo video that you can watch above, right?

The video promo will focus on the 13MP camera that is located on the back of the handset, where it has been built in such a manner so as to maintain the relative lean-ness of the device. There would be a minimum of 10 lenses on the device, which also features Optical Image Stabilization, laser auto focus, and a dual LED flash.

Do expect Android 5.0 Lollipop to arrive at it at the very least, and chances are it will also be on the receiving end of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade. The ASUS ZenFone Zoom will also feature a 5.5” Full HD display, LTE support, 4GB of RAM, a microSD memory card slot, and a 3,000 mAh battery. Any takers?
