It has been over a year since ASUS unveiled the ZenFone Zoom and the handset has still not been released in the United States. That’s an awfully long wait for a smartphone but those who might be interested in picking one up will be delighted to find out that it has finally been confirmed when the ZenFone Zoon will be released in the country.

ASUS first released the ZenFone Zoom in Taiwan last year though it did say that the handset would arrive in other markets in due time. It’s a unique device as it features a 13 megapixel rear camera with 3X optical zoom, so you should really only consider this device if mobile photography is something that’s on the top of your list.

The company has now confirmed that the ZenFone Zoom will be released in the United States next month, that’s over a year after it was first announced, the handset will be sold exclusively through B&H Photo unlocked and off contract for $399.

ZenFone Zoom features a 5.5 inch full HD display, an Intel Atom quad core Z3580 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage with support for microSD card expansion. The biggest selling point is its 13 megapixel rear camera with a 10 element Hoya lens accompanied by a 5 megapixel camera on the front.

Pre-orders can now be made at B&H Photo with shipments set to begin February 1st.
