Acer today announced a new smartphone called the Liquid Zest Plus. The biggest selling point of this smartphone is its massive 5,000mAh battery, and that’s because Acer hasn’t revealed all of the specifications of this handset yet, but the big battery definitely stands out.

Acer did confirm that the Liquid Zest Plus features a 5.5 inch display and a 13 megapixel rear camera. It didn’t confirm which processor is powering the device, how much RAM it has and what sort of internal storage customers can expect to get for their money. We don’t even know if it runs Lollipop or Marshmallow.

The company also pointed out in today’s announcement that this smartphone features a “tri-focus” camera. What this means is that the camera uses three main autofocus systems of phase, laser, and contrast detection to provide superb imaging quality. We’ll find out how it really does with some real world tests but it all sounds good on paper.

This is going to be a mid-range device given its ~$250 price tag so one shouldn’t expect flagship level specifications, perhaps the company is banking that the lure of a massive battery is going to be enough to get customers paying for the Liquid Zest Plus, which happens to be a rather unusual name for a smartphone.
