AirPods 3 With Noise Cancellation May Arrive This Year

There was a two year gap between the original AirPods and the AirPods 2. However, reports from the supply chain suggest that the company plans on launching a new model of its wireless earbuds later this year. AirPods 3 will reportedly be out before the end of 2019 and is expected to feature noise cancellation.

It was previously rumored that AirPods 3 will actually be launched in 2020 but the new report mentions that the release has been brought forward to 2019 instead. This is based on information from industry sources which can often be hit or miss so take it with a grain of salt.

Apple has reportedly made the decision to launch the AirPods 3 this year due to new competing products on the market. It would thus look to further improve the capabilities of its wireless earbuds by adding noise cancellation. While the feature would likely affect battery life, it would be impressive if Apple was able to provide that functionality in a package as small as the AirPods.

Other reports have suggested that there may be additional health and fitness related features introduced with the AirPods 3 as well. Apple hasn’t said anything about new AirPods at this point in time so it’s not known for sure whether or not it does actually plan on launching them this year.
