Apple’s Entire 2020 iPhone Lineup May Offer 5G

Even though several Android OEMs have started offering smartphones that support 5G networks, Apple isn’t expected to do that until next year at the very least. An analyst, who has been right about Apple’s future moves on multiple occasions in the past, now predicts that the entire 2020 iPhone lineup is going to have support for 5G networks.

TF Securities’ Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that the three new iPhone models that Apple is due to launch next year will have support for 5G networks. He had previously predicted that only two of the three models will get the 5G modem.

Kuo says that Apple is likely to make this decision because of the competition from 5G adoption in the premium segment of the market as some of its Android-powered rivals have already put 5G smartphones on the market. Since 5G smartphones will be readily available in the market, customer demand is likely going to increase and Apple would certainly want to capitalize on that.

Apple has obviously not confirmed anything about its 2020 iPhones at this point in time. However, it’s believed that all three models will feature OLED displays in 5.4 inch, 6.1 inch, and 6.7 inch sizes. The 6.1 inch model was previously expected to not have a 5G modem.
