How To Track Your Steps On Android

Whether you are into fitness or not, it is quite handy to have a step tracker app downloaded on your phone. Besides checking how much energy you have consumed on a given day, one could also use a pedometer app to measure distances.

In this tutorial, we are going to be taking a look at two great Android pedometer apps that are available on Play Store.

App #1: Pedometer

Pedometer by ITO Technologies is a quite practical and simple to use app, which is free on Google Play Store.

To start counting steps, just open the app and hit the ‘Start’ button. The app also offers calory consumption, the distance you have covered, your speed and time. Tap on ‘Stop’ when you wish to stop the counting.

Every session is being saved locally, so you can check out past sessions by just opening the ‘Month’ tab. App settings are available via the three dot icon located in the top right-hand corner.

To increase the accuracy of the metrics, go to Settings>Personal Information, where you can give the app helpful info such as gender, age, weight and step length.

App #2: Pedometer – Step Counter Free & Calorie Burner

Another cool option is Pedometer by Simple Design. The app features a much sleeker design than the first, as well as more extra features, such as achievements.

When a user opens the app for the first time, he or she will be prompted to give information such as gender, height and weight. As abovementioned, by providing this info the app is able to enhance the accuracy of its metrics.

The ‘Achievements’ options is a pretty decent addition too, as users can set up personal weekly goals and see if they are able to accomplish them.
