The iPhone and iPod touch will soon be able to take advantage of companion features thanks to Universal, as the company is working on being the first to tie home theater with Apple’s own App Store. This App Store-Blu-ray tie-in will coincide with the “Fast & Furious” film as it arrives in stores later this July 28th (next Tuesday). In the near future, this means iPhone and iPod Touch users are empowered with the ability to control interactive content on their Web-connected Blu-ray Disc players. In addition, bonus content found on Blu-ray Disc releases in the future can be downloaded onto an iPhone or iPod touch, turning the respective devices into a virtual remote control.
