Aniomagic has come up with a weight sensitive backpack that relies on smart eTextile components as well as a force sensitive resistor which allows you to create a cool light animation on just about any bag of your choice. Bear in mind that this is weight sensitive and not weight sensing, so it cannot double up as companion at the airport to prevent any overweight luggage, although it sports some animated sparkle whenever it detects that the bag is not empty while you walk around with it. Would be nice to see some form of mechanism integrated where kinetic energy generated will be able to power the LED light on the outside of the bag.
