Why not go old school with the Regulateur clock concept from Baita Design? This key-wound clock requires interaction or friction to generate kinetic energy to power itself, where you get a transparent front, where the clock will increase the sensation of interaction by providing the gears’ movement vision. It measures 20cm x 14cm x 5cm, and misses out on a cuckoo to remain retro-actively relevant.
