HTC Android-powered phone from Verizon spotted

HTC has a whole lot of Android-powered devices in the market already, but here’s an image of a new Android-powered device that will arrive on Verizon next year. This Verizon-branded prototype will also come with a Vodafone SIM card, pointing towards it being able to run on both CDMA and GSM networks. Among the hardware specifications include a 4″ display of unknown pixel count which probably comes from Sharp, a 4-row sliding QWERTY keyboard for fast and easy messaging, and a 1.2GHz processor that will clearly help it remain relevant when rolled out next year. While we won’t take things for granted, it will probably be released with Android 2.2.
