hitachi-CS5K2000[CES 2011] Storage is always an issue with those who are multimedia buffs, since those kind of files tend to eat up space like nobody’s business. Well, Hitachi certainly knows what they doing with their latest CinemaStar hard drives, targeting the lucrative A/V market with larger capacities. Optimized for the digital video recorder (DVR), IPTV set-top-box (STB), video surveillance and emerging hard drive-embedded TV markets, these two drives are the 3.5-inch CinemaStar 5K2000 family and the 2.5-inch CinemaStar C5K750 family, where the former will offer 2TB and 1.5TB capacities, while the latter sports 750GB, 640GB and 500GB capacities. You can be sure that they will do their job well, since they both stem from a long line of low power, barely audible and reliable hard drives, so hopefully the latest generation will not disappoint in anyway. No word on pricing or availability as at press time though.
