If you happen to own an iPod, iPhone or iPad and use one (or all three of them) as your portable entertainment center of choice, aren’t there moments when you felt that, if only your eyes were treated to a far larger display? That’s right, while the iPad does so much better than the iPhone when it comes to viewing movies, it still maxes out at 10″ – and for those who are used to cinema sized screens, perhaps this is where Epson’s MegaPlex projectors are able to help.

The new range of portable, combo projectors known as the MegaPlex MG-850HD and MegaPlex MG-50 will come with a high-quality, high-brightness projector, stereo speakers and a built-in dock for iPod, iPhone and iPad. It doesn’t matter whether this is used for leisure or business – it will still be able to get the work done, and is compatible with other media devices such as non-Apple smartphones, computers, tablets, consoles, the works.

3LCD technology will see action to deliver reliable performance and rich, vibrant colors, while the flagship MegaPlex MG-850HD delivers 720p high-definition resolution and high brightness of 2,800 lumens of color and white light output, whereas the smaller MegaPlex MG-50 will bring 540p resolution to the table, and up to 2,200 lumens of color and white light output.

Your ears will be treated to a couple of built-in 10W stereo speakers which frankly, you’re much better off hooking it up to a good audio system. Other connectivity options include USB Plug ‘n Play, HDMI and VGA inputs.

Expect the Epson MegaPlex MG-850HD and MegaPlex MG-50 to arrive this month for $799 and $699, respectively. [Press Release]
