There is a saying, “You cannot see an accident coming”, but sometimes, accidents can be prevented if one is careful enough. It seems that one of Apple’s internal testing applications has sneaked its way into the iOS App Store – bearing all the hallmarks of a ninja. When you search for “gamestore”, the application will show up, where it will retail for a comfortable $0.99. This internal app paves the way for in-app purchases, it does seem to resemble an app that is currently in its testing phase – especially when you consider the fact that the in-app purchases do not do anything at all for the moment, being described as “This application allows you to buy different things from within the app.”

MacRumors claim that this app hails from three years back (yes, we are in 2012 already!) as Apple first introduced in-app purchases to the world. What is your take on the GameStore app being released so prematurely – is it a slip on purpose to generate interest amongst users, or an actual case of the horse bolting from the stable before it has been properly harnessed? Needless to say, a snafu on such a level has already resulted in the app being pulled from the App Store.
