Don’t be surprised if you launch the Bing Maps app on a Windows Phone device in the future and you see it branded as a Nokia map – even if you’re not holding a Nokia phone. According to an interview Nokia’s CEO, Stephen Elop, had behind closed doors with Pocket-Lint.com at CES 2012, we’re going to see a lot more of Nokia’s branding in Microsoft’s products in the future. This will include Bing Maps, and other services and apps in the future.
It looks like the companies are really banking on each other for success, which should be a good thing. Though it makes you wonder what competing phone companies have to say about it – nobody likes playing favorites unless they’re the ones chosen as favorites.
