tab-s-10.5-frontA few days ago, we caught wind that Samsung could be working on a new tablet called the Samsung Galaxy Tab S. Based on the rumored specs of the device, it sounds like a pretty powerful tablet and we’re sure that Android fans are definitely looking forward to it. Now thanks to the folks at SamMobile, we now have an idea of what the device could look like.

To be honest there’s not much to see here, especially since the tablet appears to feature a pretty normal design that we have come to expect from Samsung’s tablets. However interestingly enough it looks like Samsung has taken a page from its Galaxy S5’s design language and applied it to the Galaxy Tab S’s back, which now features a textured design, much like the Galaxy S5.

tab-s-10.5-backNow for those who might have missed our earlier report, here’s a quick rundown on some of the rumored specs of the upcoming tablet. For starters the tablet will feature a 10.5-inch AMOLED display, a nice change from the LCD displays that Samsung typically uses with its tablets. The resolution will be at 2560×1600 and will also be available in an 8.4-inch model as well.

The tablet has also been rumored to feature a fingerprint scanner on its home button, much like the Galaxy S5, and will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos octa-core 5420 chipset. This will feature four 1.9GHz Cortex A15 cores, and four 1.3GHz Cortex A7 cores. The tablet will also pack an 8MP rear-facing camera, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, LTE connectivity, and Android 4.4 KitKat. No word on when the Galaxy Tab S will be released, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more info.
