Samsung has announced a detailed rollout schedule for One UI 9, its next major software update based on Android 17. The distribution follows the stable release for the Galaxy S26 series and will gradually expand to older flagship smartphones and tablets.
According to Samsung, the first phase of the global rollout begins on September 21 and is initially limited to the Galaxy S26 series. The Korean release, which preceded the broader distribution, is considered experimental, meaning users in regions such as Brazil, Europe, and North America are expected to receive the update during the global rollout.
The second phase is scheduled to begin on September 28. This stage will extend One UI 9 to several recent flagship devices, including:
- Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, S25 Ultra, and S25 FE
- Galaxy Z Fold 7
- Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Flip 7 FE
- Galaxy Z TriFold
The third phase is expected around mid-October, bringing the update to additional older premium devices. Samsung’s schedule includes the Galaxy S23 FE, the Galaxy S24 series, the Galaxy S23 series, the Galaxy Z6 series, and the Galaxy Tab S11 series.
Other smartphones in the Galaxy A family are expected to receive One UI 9 after the third phase, with their updates also anticipated around mid-October. Samsung plans to distribute the software progressively, starting with newer models before moving to older devices. The overall rollout is expected to be completed by November.
As with previous Samsung software releases, availability may vary depending on the model, market, carrier, and regional certification process. Therefore, the dates should be treated as a general schedule rather than a guarantee that every eligible device will receive the update simultaneously.
Meanwhile, Samsung has already begun development of One UI 9.5, which is expected to serve as a subsequent software iteration. The company has also expanded its Galaxy S26 lineup with the Galaxy S26 FE.
