Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Series Debuts: Dimensity 9500, Ultra-Thin Design, And 7 Years Of Updates 

Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, targeting the premium mobile productivity and creative segments. Both high-end Android tablets run on the flagship 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, delivering an impressive 61% boost in neural processing, 19% faster CPU performance, and 17% enhanced graphics rendering. To maintain sustained peak throughput under demanding multitasking workloads, Samsung engineered an enlarged, redesigned 3D vapor chamber cooling system. 

Departing from earlier generations, Samsung omitted the traditional 11-inch entry tier, focusing entirely on large-format screens. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra becomes the thinnest tablet in Samsung’s history, measuring a mere 5.1 mm in thickness around its massive 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus delivers an agile 12.6-inch panel with reduced display bezels. Both panels boast a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, 1,600 nits peak brightness, specialized anti-reflective surface coatings, and Vision Booster algorithm technology for enhanced outdoor readability. 

Memory configurations for the Tab S12 Plus provide 12GB RAM with 256GB or 512GB of storage. The flagship Tab S12 Ultra expands options up to 16GB RAM and 1TB of internal storage, with both devices supporting up to 2TB external microSD expansion. Battery endurance relies on a large 11,600mAh cell in the Ultra delivering up to 23 hours of continuous runtime, while the Plus houses a 10,600mAh capacity rated for 21 hours. Both tablets support 45W wired charging via USB-C, achieving a complete full replenishment in approximately 95 minutes. 

On the software front, the series debuts with Android 17 under One UI 9, supported by an industry-leading commitment to seven years of major OS and security upgrades. Onboard Galaxy AI tools are paired with six months of complimentary Google AI Pro access and pre-installed Adobe Photoshop featuring dedicated S Pen hardware optimization and Adobe Firefly generative tools. The complete hardware package includes an inbox S Pen stylus, quad-speaker 4-channel spatial audio, IP68 water resistance, under-display fingerprint biometrics, versatile 5G dual-SIM support, and modern Wi-Fi 7 on the Ultra alongside Wi-Fi 6E on the Plus.

The Galaxy Tab S12 series will be available starting October 7 in the U.S. offered in two colors, Gray and Silver.
