When you talk about a web browser on the Android platform, most of the time we would be looking at the stock browser that arrives with any version of Android, while many others have already decided to jump aboard the Chrome Browser bandwagon. Well, we do know for sure now that out of the 19,000 different Android devices (as in types, not the total figure – for instance, there might be 5 million units of a particular type that are in the market) that are being used globally at the moment, there are approximately 100 million active Android users who are rocking to an Opera Browser on their particular device.
This is a huge figure by any means, and definitely not one to be sneezed at. In fact, Opera Software made this particular announcement and are pleased as punch that this figure is double that of what they had just one year ago, going to show how it has grown by leaps and bounds in the past 12 months.
As for the countries that have the highest number of Opera users on Android, it would be India at the top of the list, followed by China, Indonesia, Russia and Mexico. Notice how all of these countries have extremely high population levels? What next for the Opera Browser? [Press Release]
