bbpassportSo after much waiting and teasing and leaks, it seems that the BlackBerry Passport will finally be unveiled on the 24th of September, but the question is with its unveiling, will its release also be on the same day, or could the Passport be released a little after its announcement? Well according to the folks at BlackBerryOS, it seems that the 1st of October could be a possible release date.

They claim that they have heard from their sources that the BlackBerry Passport will be seeing a release on the 1st of October in markets such as Canada, Europe, and the UAE. Given that BlackBerry has chosen Canada, London, and Dubai to make the announcements, we guess this hardly comes as a surprise.

They go on to state that the Passport could cost $800 or 650 Euro. Unfortunately there was no mention of a US launch and according to them, the US is expected to miss the 1st of October release and could possibly be launched 1-2 weeks later. Of course none of this can be confirmed yet, but if you had your eye on the device, perhaps it could be worth keeping an eye on that date.

In any case it certainly does seem like a coincidence that the countries the phone is being announced in are also the markets it will be released in first, but either way do check back with us at a later date for additional details.
