Lumia-830-3A while back, the Nokia Lumia 830 was announced and is expected to make its way onto AT&T’s network in the near future. Well if you’re wondering why should you pick up the Lumia 830 from AT&T as opposed to unlocked or another carrier, it is because AT&T’s model could come with both Qi and PMA wireless charging standards in it.

This is according to a report from Windows Phone Central who claims that AT&T’s version of the Lumia 830 could offer both wireless charging standards at once. Qi is the more commonly used wireless charging standard and a variety of charging mats are built around the Qi standard.

At the same time, there are some benefits of the PMA standard as they can be found in places like Starbucks and McDonald’s, meaning that you can charge your phone wirelessly while enjoying a cup of coffee or a burger. Usually these standards are exclusive from one another, but it looks like with the Lumia 830, Microsoft could have figured a way to include both.

The Lumia 830 is expected to make its way to stores come 7th of November where it will be priced at $99, so if you’re interested in devices that support wireless charging, then perhaps this is something worth keeping an eye out for.
