Our phones beep and vibrate whenever we get a new notification, like an email, instant message, Facebook like, Instagram follow, and so on. It can be admittedly rather distracting and for those who’d rather not be checking their phones all day but still want to be informed when something important pops up, Ditto could be the device for you.

Put together b y Bob Olodort of Simple Matters, the idea of Ditto is to create a simple device in which users can determine which notifications are important via an accompanying app. After that, the Ditto will vibrate to let users know when said important notifications come through, like an email by your boss, a phone call from a family member, and etc.

Alternatively Ditto can remind you that your forgot to bring your phone with you as it pairs via Bluetooth, so once the connection drops, it will vibrate. This is handy for those who keep their phones in their bags or purses, or left it in the office but still want to be notified anyway. As it stands, the Ditto is a Kickstarter project seeking funding.

However with 8 days to go, it seems unlikely that they will be able to reach their goal of $100,000, but according to Olodort, the Kickstarter campaign is used more for the publicity and that they will continue to go ahead with the production regardless of its success or failure. If you’d like to learn more, check it out in the video above and you can pop on over to its Kickstarter page if you’d like to donate.
