twitter-raidWith Twitter claiming to make major changes in the months ahead, we do hope that this would also mean squashing all known bugs at the moment, and at the same time, to leave little or no room at all for other quirks to arise. For instance, there is a new bug that was discovered in Twitter, only to have it circulate (via Twitter, where else?) that this bug in Twitter for iOS has caused the app to crash whenever a specific URL is tweeted.

Apart from that, assuming that the URL in question makes an appearance in your timeline, it will end up with the Twitter for iOS app to crash each time it is opened. Users do not need to click on the link in order to be affected, which is a bummer. This particular bug was first discovered by a certain @CPVideoMaker, where it seems as though this unique bug is related to a URL that has been encoded using “punycode” on the network.

Good to know then, that this particular problem took a short time to resolve after being noticed. It is rather ironic that the discovery of a new bug would lead to them sharing it with their followers, and this has led to those who encountered the Punycode tweet on Twitter for iOS being unable to open the app after that.
