asus-x002When we talk about the world of smartphones, the name ASUS does not really register on most peoples’ minds, since this particular brand name is more often than not associated with computers and laptops, not to mention some peripherals such as routers and the ilk. However, it must be noted that ASUS has had made the foray into smartphones in the form of its relatively successful Zenfone range, while a latest model might just have made its way through TENAA and GFXBench. This particular model is known as the ASUS X002, where it will sport a 5″ 720p display while being powered by a quad-core 64-bit processor.

The ASUS X002 will be powered by Android 4.4.4 KitKat, where it will be based on a MediaTek MT6732 chipset that features a quartet of Cortex-A53 cores at 1.5GHz and Mali-T760 GPU keeping it company. GFXBench claims that the X002 has 2GB RAM, while TENAA mentioned just half the amount – perhaps this has something to do with it arriving as a regional variant.

We do know, however, that the ASUS X002 happens to be a single-SIM device while featuring LTE connectivity, an 8MP shooter that is located at the back, a 5MP selfie camera, 8GB of internal memory and a microSD memory card slot, all of it packed into a chassis that measures 9.9mm thin while tipping the scales at 140 grams.
