There are a few different virtual reality headsets available to users at the moment. Some of them are more fully integrated like the Oculus Rift or Sony’s Project Morpheus, both of which come with their own integrated displays. Others, like the Samsung Gear VR and Google Cardboard rely on your smartphone to act as its display.

These options tend to be cheaper and if you were looking for something similar, you might be interested in a Kickstarter project for a VR headset called the Viewbox. The Viewbox is similar to the Gear VR and the Cardboard in the sense that it will rely on your smartphone for its display. However there are some differences, such as its design where Viewbox has turned to the use of neoprene.

Neoprene, for those unfamiliar, is the same material used to make wetsuits. This has allowed the creators to create a seamless design out of soft and flexible material. It also lets the device “breathe” better to prevent fog and allows heat to escape better, not to mention the softer material will allow users to use the device for longer periods of time.

It is also foldable due to its soft nature meaning that you could technically fold it and stuff it into your pockets just fine. If this sounds like something you might be interested in, head on over to its Kickstarter page for the details.
